Performance Evaluation Reform Act (PERA)
STATEMENT OF PHILOSOPHY -
Gower School District 62 is committed to providing the best educational program for its students and supports a professional appraisal process that focuses on excellence. The system is based on teachers and administrators working together in the process of continual improvement of teaching and learning.
The Gower Appraisal System is designed to foster dialogue for professional growth as well as meet the Illinois State Board of Education requirements for teacher evaluation. In order to meet both goals, the Enhancing Professional Practice: A Framework for Teaching, 2nd ed. by Charlotte Danielson (2007) was selected as both a model for professional growth and a measure of teacher performance and the Danielson Framework for Teaching Evaluation Instrument, 2013 ed.
We believe…
