Meeting Schedule

Public Notice

In accordance with the Illinois Open Meetings Act, the Gower School District 62 Board of Education is required to provide written notice of its regular meeting schedule, including dates, times, and location for the school year. The table below includes the regular monthly meeting dates for the current school year. The schedule for the following school year will be posted after it is approved at the organizational meeting, typically held in April or May each year.

Regular monthly meetings are typically held during the third week of the month from August to June each year. A regular Board meeting is usually not scheduled in July. Special meetings may be called by the Board, as needed, at any time with appropriate public notice and will be added to the table below, along with any changes made to the approved schedule.

All meetings are scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room, located in the Gower School District 62 Administrative Office, 7700 S. Clarendon Hills Rd., Willowbrook, IL 60527; at the south end of the Gower West Elementary School Campus; Door #B22.

Public Comment at Board of Education Meetings

Members of the District 62 community are invited to participate in regular and special open meetings. As outlined in Board of Education Policy 2:230 Public Participation at Board of Education Meetings and Petitions to the Board, community members may address the Board in person during Public Comment of any public meeting. A Sign up Sheet is available for Public Comment about 30 minutes prior to the meeting start time. For Public Comments, the Board of Education President will invite speakers to come forward at the appropriate time.

Petitions or written correspondence to the Board shall be presented to the Board of Education at the next regularly scheduled Board meeting.

Community members participating in Board meetings should conduct themselves with respect and civility toward others and otherwise abide by Board Policy 8:30 Visitors to and Conduct on School Property.

Board of Education Charter

The Gower 62 Board of Education, by resolution, took action on Sept. 21, 2021 to adopt the Board of Education Charter. The Board Charter was developed over a period of time beginning with the self-evaluation of the Board on June 22, 2021 and in consultation with the Illinois Association of School Boards, and shall serve as a publicly shared guidance and effective governance document for the Board of Education to utilize. 

The Gower School District 62 Board of Education Legacy to the Community, as set forth below, was developed by the Board of Education and shall be recognized as the expressed collective values, beliefs, and aspirations of the Board in relation, and in support of, the Board Charter, as established by resolution.
